Series "Once Upon A Pink Moon"

The pandemic reshaped our relationship with the idea of home, exposing its fragile bond with safety. While confinement offered protection from COVID-19, it also coincided with a rise in domestic violence in Brazil between 2020 and 2021. In response, this project imagines a space free from violence, particularly gender-based violence, in solidarity with survivors. The images capture the white walls of the artist’s home, photographed on 35mm film corroded by spices drawn from Brazilian cuisine. These surfaces become a blank canvas for a post-pandemic utopia, where deterioration gives rise to dreamlike landscapes and amorphous
forms, softly washed in shades of pink.
La pandémie a transformé notre rapport à la maison, révélant la fragilité de son lien avec la sécurité. Si le confinement a protégé du COVID-19, il a aussi coïncidé avec une hausse des violences domestiques au Brésil entre 2020 et 2021. Ce projet imagine un espace libéré de toute violence, en particulier sexiste, en solidarité avec les survivants. Les images montrent les murs blancs du foyer de l’artiste, photographiés sur une pellicule 35 mm corrodée par des épices issues de la cuisine brésilienne. Ces surfaces deviennent une toile vierge pour une utopie post-pandémique, où la détérioration fait naître des paysages oniriques et des formes amorphes, baignés de teintes rosées.
